We’re excited to announce that the Delta 2022 Hatters Hill Chardonnay has been recognised with another gold medal, this time at the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA)!
The award follows a long list of accolades for this wine, and we’re delighted with the result from such a globally respected competition.
Now in its 22nd year, DWWA has become recognised for its rigorous judging process and world-class judges, earning it respect as the world’s largest and most influential wine competition, trusted by both trade and consumers.
Tasting notes alongside the judgement highlight the wine’s peach and pineapple notes with a ‘lick of chervil energy’, describing the wine as “weighty on the palate with a buttery, satin texture and a slick acid line. Long and nutty”.
The Hatters Hill Chardonnay 2022 is Delta Estate’s flagship Chardonnay. Crafted using a blend of individual barrel selections from our premium vineyard sites in Marlborough’s prestigious Southern and Wairau Valley sub-regions.
After ageing in a combination of new and seasoned French oak barriques, the wine displays an elegant balance of bold flavours and refined complexity, making it a delightful choice for both immediate enjoyment and future cellaring.
