Exciting news from the winery this week with the news our Hatters Hill Chardonnay 2024 has picked up a DOUBLE GOLD at the 2025 New Zealand International Wine Show (NZIWS)!
The 2024 vintage scored a near-perfect 98 points, with unanimous gold medal scores ensuring it received the sought-after ‘double-gold’ status.
In order to be awarded an NZIWS double gold medal, a wine is required to receive unanimous gold medal scores from the Chief Judge, three Assistant Chief Judges and the three-person Senior Judging team. NZIWS is the largest judging show in New Zealand.
Our Hatters Hill Chardonnay 2022 and River Delta Sauvignon Blanc 2025 each also picked up a gold medal at the competition, both scoring 95 points.
Hatters Hill Chardonnay is Delta Estate’s flagship and top-awarding Chardonnay, made with fruit sourced from the exceptional Southern Valleys and Dillons Point sub regions.
“These sub regions are renowned for producing expressive and high quality Chardonnay,” said Winemaker Heather Stewart.
