The sun has set on Delta Estate's 2025 harvest season and the vintage is already showing strong promise. Favourable growing conditions and a long, even ripening period have delivered fruit of exceptional quality, precisely the kind of season that allows the character of each Delta vineyard site to shine.
Harvest began in early February and continued smoothly through to late March. Marlborough’s driest, sunniest season on record ensured optimal ripening without interruption, giving the team the opportunity to pick each block at its ideal moment.

A successful flowering in spring led to high potential yields. In line with Winemaker Heather’s quality focused approach, selective crop thinning was carried out to maintain vine balance and concentration. A cooler than average summer followed, helping to preserve natural acidity and support a gradual, flavour-rich ripening process; essential for producing refined, terroir-driven wines.
Heather has seen spectacular quality in the 2025 Chardonnay, especially amongst the Mendoza clones, which delivered fruit with elegance, structure, and textural complexity.
Pinot Noir, the Signature variety of Delta Estate, benefited from an extended hang time. Dijon clones 943 and 115 expressed delicate structure, ripe red fruit, and fine tannins. Sauvignon Blanc from coastal sites such as Dillons Point was intensely aromatic and vibrant, with excellent concentration and clarity.
Delta Estate remains committed to producing wines that display balance, precision, and minimal winemaking influence, allowing the vineyards terroir to speak in each sip. With the fruit now safely in the winery, Heather has begun trailing blends for the Delta and Hatters Hill Sauvignon Blancs.
