Distinction Series Sauvignon Blanc Shines in Wine Enthusiast

Distinction Series Sauvignon Blanc Shines in Wine Enthusiast

In just its second release, the 2024 Delta Distinction Series Identity Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc has been recognised with 90 points by Wine Enthusiast.

Wine Enthusiast is the ultimate magazine for wine lovers who crave global travel, modern dining, craft brews and quality cocktails, and has a tasting panel which judges more than 24,000 wines from across the world each year.

The 90-point score came after the same wine scored 92 points with James Suckling and a gold medal at the 2024 NZ International Wine Show.

The Delta team is thrilled with this latest accolade, which works to further affirm the work that went into creating an elegant and generous Sauvignon Blanc that speaks of its terroir.

Grapes for the Distinction Series Sauvignon Blanc derives from the 'Identity Vineyard' based in the sought-after lower Wairau valley in Marlborough. It was one of the earliest sites identified by the Delta winemaking team, recognised for producing the remarkable tropical fruit aromas often associated with high quality Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

Fruit for the 2024 vintage was fermented in stainless-steel using select strains of yeast that enhance the flavour profile of this wine, resulting in a refined Sauvignon Blanc with a bright and intense palate, with vibrant passionfruit and gooseberry characters.

It makes for an ideal match with pan-fried scallops, soft goat’s cheese or fresh mussels.

A 2025 vintage of the Delta Distinction Series Identity Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc will be released in the coming months.
