Smooth, full of vibrant red cherries and hints of rich toasted oak.
These Merlot grapes were selected from a naturally low cropping vineyard in Marlborough’s Rapaura sub-region. Stoney free draining soils and warm summer weather ensured these grapes fully ripened prior to selection.
On harvesting, the juice was fermented, hand plunged and pumped over to enhance tannins, colours and flavour. It was then aged in seasoned French and American oak, underwent malolactic fermentation and then ageing on lees prior to bottling.
