Our flagship Hatters Hill Pinot Noir is a rich and complex example of how the Delta vineyard’s clay soils influence the development of the Pinot Noir grapes. Rich dark fruits, balanced with smooth earthy notes are effortlessly combine to form a rich, well rounded Pinot Noir.
Our best clone 115 Pinot Noir grapes were selected for this blend. Fermented at temperatures of up to 34 degrees, whole bunches were added to enhance the complexity of this wine. Once fermented, the wine was aged in French oak barriques for 10 months, 33% of which were new.
Drinking beautifully now, but with the stature and complexity to age for another five years and beyond, this wine is an excellent accompaniment to a rich rack of lamb, or a beautiful mushroom risotto.

94 Points: Wine Orbit
Sweetly fruited and seductively complex, the wine shows spiced cherry, dark plum, cured meat and olive characters on the nose. It's equally attractive on the palate, offering lovely weight and rounded mouthfeel, wonderfully complemented by silken texture and polished tannins, finishing long and delightfully savoury. At its best: now to 2024.

93 Points
Really nice bouquet of Pinot Noir with an immediate sense of pinosity from fruit then spice then soil. Aromas of red berries and roses, plum and light brown baking spice and stony, dry stone mineral layer. Harmonious and inviting. On the palate - youthful, fresh, varietal and tense with chalk-dust textures of tannin, medium+ acidity and fruit flavours that reflect the nose. Youthful still, nice weight and tension, balanced and well made. Drink now and through 2023

The 2018 vintage (4.5*) was matured for 10 months in old French oak barriques. Fragrant and supple, it is ruby hued, sweet-fruited and savoury, with youthful cherry, plum, spice and nut flavours, showing good concentration and complexity. Best drinking 2021+.
