Trophy Win for Delta Wine Company's Pinot Noir

Trophy Win for Delta Wine Company's Pinot Noir

Fridays often have a wonderful feeling about them and today has been no exception. The Delta Wine Company’s love for producing rich and elegant Pinot Noir has once again been recognised on the international stage.

We are delighted to announce that our flagship Hatters Hill Pinot Noir 2017 has won a Trophy at the International Wine Challenge for best Marlborough Pinot Noir.

Described by the IWC as “Plush as a velvet cushion… Seductive and lush but elegantly balanced”, trophy winners are selected from the gold-medal winning wines and undergo extensive blind tastings by a panel of highly regarded wine industry professionals.

Hand crafted by Delta’s winemaker Heather Stewart and matured in a combination of new and old French oak barriques, this Pinot Noir reflects the quality and commitment Delta has for producing terroir driven wines of the highest quality.

Made in a style that enables the natural terroir of the Delta vineyard to be expressed, our Pinot Noir is an elegant and rich wine, drinking beautifully now with the potential to continue to age over the coming years.

This thrilling news comes only a few months after this same wine won Blue-Gold and a Top 100 wine position at the Sydney International Wine Competition at the start of 2019.

The Delta Wine Company’s brand manager Alison Downs comments “This is wonderful news. It’s so humbling to know that the love and energy that Heather puts in to producing such a wonderful wine is being recognised throughout the world. We are delighted with this news and look forward to enjoying a glass this evening!”
