2015 Delta Sauvignon Blanc

Drinking beautifully now but best enjoyed over the next two years.


The fruit was sourced from selected vineyards in the lower Wairau area, predominantly from the Dillons Point region.

The Dillons Point sub-region has slightly cooler nights in summer due to its proximity to the ocean, even soils with high levels of available minerals, and excellent drainage due to sand from an ancient riverbed lying beneath the soil.


Cool temperatures in the flowering season and a very warm and dry growing season resulted in lower than usual yield. This led to outstanding flavour development while the cooler evenings retained the unique and fresh acidity typical of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.

The grapes were harvested during the cool of the evening and transported with haste to the winery where they were de-stemmed and pressed immediately to minimize skin contact. The juice was inoculated with yeast and fermented at 12 degrees celsius to retain fruit flavour and freshness.

Tasting Note

The 2015 Delta Sauvignon Blanc is a wine of great concentration, with a classic spectrum of flavour. This wine of the lower Wairau area has a depth of blackcurrant notes and blackcurrant leaf on the nose with hints of peach and passionfruit. A textural wine with mouth-watering minerality and herbal notes.

Colour: Pale Straw

Nose: Classic Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with aromas of blackcurrant, blackcurrant leaves, and ripe tropical notes of peach and passionfruit.

Palate: Luscious passionfruit and mineral flavours. A fresh acidity with underlying green herbal notes add focus to the wine. The palate is textural and mouth-watering with a long lingering finish. Serve lightly chilled.
