Raymond Chan Wine Reviews
Raymond Chan has given the 2012 Delta Pinot Noir 4 stars, 18/20. He describes it as dark, deep, ruby-red colour with lighter garnet hues on edge. This has an elegantly concentrated and fresh bouquet with a good core of ripe black and red berry fruits, and kirsch, entwined with subtle herb, earth and minerally complexities along with hints of smoky reductive elements. Medium-full bodied, the palate features a silky, smooth-flowing core of black cherry and raspberry fruit complexed by dark herb, mineral and earthy notes. The mouthfeel is refined and vibrant with very fine-grained tannins and soft, lacy acidity underlining the fruit. This has a delicate succulence that carries through to a tightly bound and very long, lingering finish with cherry fruit flavours and minerals. This is a fine-featured, sweet dark-red fruited Pinot Noir with subtle complexing mineral nuances. Serve with poultry, pork and Asian cuisine over the next 5-6 years.
