Ruby-red colour with some depth, and light purple hues on the edge. This has bright dark cherry and raspberry fruit aromas, lively and fruit-expressive, quite primary, with a refreshing steely, minerally note. Medium-bodied, bright, up-front flavours of dark cherries and raspberries are supported by fine-grained tannins and lacy acidity, forming an elegant palate core and line. Fine textures and smooth mouthfeel allow the fruit to grow is juiciness and succulence on the long and sustained finish. This is a supple, up-front and juicy Pinot Noir with a fine-grained texture. Match with poultry and pork over the next 4-5 years. Dijon clone fruit from the ‘Delta Farm’ vineyard, 99% destemmed but not crushed, given a cold soak and fermented to 13.2% alc., 33% of the wine aged 10 months in one-third new French oak. 18.0-/20 Oct 2012 RRP $24.00
